Continuing the legacy of environmental imaging and improving short-term forecasting, the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES)-O is scheduled the launch, Friday, June 26 at 6:14 p.m. The public is invited to view the GOES launch in HD from the Goddard Visitor Center at 5:30 p.m.
This family event includes children activities, a showing of Science on the Sphere and a brief mission overview from Thomas Renkevens, NOAA User Services Coordinator. The GOES environmental satellites are built my Boeing for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) under the project management of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
