Glacier NP, Montana Fires

Fires continued to burn in the mountains of Canada (top half above), and northern Montana/Glacier National Park (lower half above) on July 29, 2003.This image is from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensor on the Aqua satellite. The red outlines shown above highlight active fires burning as observed by the MODIS sensor.

The image below shows the smoke plumes rising from the fires. Click the links below the image to see the active fires shown in red or just the smoke plumes.
