Hurricane Claudette Nears Texas Coast

National Hurricane Center (NHC) forecasters predict Claudette will hit Texas around late morning Tuesday, July 15, 2003. Claudette reached hurricane status near midnight July 14, according to the NHC. These images show Claudette strengthening and organizing on July 14, 2003. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard the Aqua and Terra satellites and the Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view Sensor (SeaWiFs) aboard the OrbView-2 satellite took these images.
