NASA Astronaut and Scientist Meet with Baltimore Students

NASA kicks off the newly established NASA Explorer Schools partnership with Rosemont Elementary School, Baltimore, Md., with presentations by a NASA astronaut and a scientist. Dr. Mike Ryschkewitsch, GSFC Deputy Director, Goddard Space Flight Center
Where: Rosemont Elementary School, Baltimore, Md.

NASA astronaut Terry Virts, Jr. and Dr. Michael Ryschkewitsch, deputy director of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md., will speak with students about careers in aeronautics and space exploration. Virts currently works as a communicator with station and shuttle crews from mission control in Houston. Ryschkewitsch is a physicist.

The NASA Explorer Schools Program provides schools with classroom resources and innovative technology based on NASA's missions and discoveries. During the three-year partnership, NASA helps schools address science, technology, engineering and mathematics needs. Rosemont Elementary School was selected as a NASA Explorer School beginning in academic year 2005-2006.
