Former Astronaut Scott Carpenter and Author Andrew Chaikin Visit Glenn Research Center

Cleveland - Former NASA Mercury Astronaut Scott Carpenter and science journalist and author Andrew Chaikin will give presentations to NASA Glenn Research Center employees September 14. Media are invited to hear their presentations.

Chaikin, author of "A Man on the Moon: The Voyages of the Apollo Astronauts", will speak at 11 a.m. at the Glenn Visitor Center.

Carpenter, author of "For Spacious Skies: The Uncommon Journey of a Mercury Astronaut", will speak at 2 p.m. in the Administration Building auditorium.

Both will also make presentations at the Visitor Center's Third Saturday Program, a Space Memorabilia Show presented in collaboration with collectSPACE.com, September 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Media representatives planning to attend either or both presentations on September 14 should contact Sally Harrington at 216-433-2037 or the Media Relations Office at 216-433-2901 by 4 p.m., September 13, so arrangements can be made for security clearance.
