PUBLIC INVITED TO WATCH SPACE SHUTTLE DISCOVERY'S LANDING

The public is invited to the Visitor Center Auditorium at NASA's Glenn 
Research Center, Cleveland, on Monday to view the landing of STS-121 
Space Shuttle Discovery. 

Doors of the Visitor Center will open at 8:30 a.m. with the landing 
scheduled for 9:07 a.m.

Angel Otero, chief of Glenn's Space Operations Division, will greet 
guests and answer questions about the mission. 

Discovery's mission, originally scheduled for 12 days, was extended by 
one day to allow for a third spacewalk during which astronauts 
performed tests of a repair material for reinforced carbon-carbon. 
The STS-121 crew also tested new equipment to improve shuttle safety, 
delivered supplies and made repairs to the International Space 
Station.

Admission to the Visitor Center, which is wheelchair accessible, is 
free but limited to U.S. citizens. Adult visitors must present 
government-issued photo identification upon entering the center's 
main gate. All vehicles are subject to inspection.
