Plum Brook Reactor Facility Decommissioning Project Update

What:
Media Briefing and Tour of Reactor Facility
Acting Decommissioning Project Manager Keith Peecook will brief the media on the progress made on the project over the last year and the ongoing work being done. After an opportunity to ask questions, there will be a tour of the Reactor Facility. There will also be a preview of the information that will be shared with the public at a Community Information Session that evening in the Cedar Point Center at Bowling Green State University-Firelands from 7-9 p.m.

When:
Tuesday, October 18, 10 a.m. - noon. Please arrive at the Plum Brook Station gate no later than 9:30 a.m. You will be escorted to the Decommissioning Project trailer for the briefing.

Where:
NASA Glenn Research Center's Plum Brook Station 6100 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio.

RSVP:
No later than Friday, October 14, to the Media Relations Office at NASA's Glenn Research Center -
216-433-2901. Due to security requirements, NASA must have attendees' information in advance to allow on-site access.

Tour Notes:
Cameras are welcome. All equipment is subject to scanning/screening on entrance and exit from the Reactor Facility. Low-heeled shoes and cotton or other natural fiber clothing is recommended as they will be less likely than synthetic fabrics to absorb naturally occurring radon within the Reactor Facility that could result in additional time to be surveyed on exiting.
