NOTE TO EDITORS/NEWS DIRECTORS: MEDIA INVITED TO TOWN HALL EVENT 

Media representatives are invited to attend a Town Hall event with 
NASA's Glenn Research Center (GRC) Director Dr. Julian Earls, NASA 
Administrator Sean O'Keefe, U.S. Senator George Voinovich and GRC 
employees on Tuesday, October 12 at 10 a.m. in Glenn's DEB 
auditorium.



The Town Hall event will focus on the NASA Flexibility Act, signed 
into law by President Bush on February 24, 2004. Sen. Voinovich 
sponsored the bill. It allows NASA more flexibility in recruiting, 
retaining and rewarding a new generation of engineers, scientists and 
managers vital to accomplishing the agency's mission of exploration 
and discovery. At the conclusion of the event, Administrator O'Keefe 
and Sen. Voinovich will be available briefly to answer news media 
questions.



Following the event, Administrator O'Keefe and the senator will tour 
Glenn's Electric Propulsion Laboratory. There will be another brief 
media opportunity at the tour's conclusion.
