NOTE TO EDITORS/NEWS DIRECTORS:

NASA ADMINISTRATOR'S MEDIA ROUNDTABLE OPEN TO LOCAL MEDIA

Local media representatives are invited to listen in by telephone to a media roundtable with NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe. The main topic will be the Assessment and Plan for Organizational Culture Change at NASA.

The media roundtable, which will take place at NASA Headquarters in Washington, is today from 3 to approximately 3:45 p.m. Reporters can listen in to the roundtable by telephone, but will be unable to ask questions. The listen in numbers are: 1-321-867-1220/1240/1260.

After the Columbia Accident Investigation Board found NASA's history and culture contributed to the loss of the Shuttle, the agency embarked on a plan to transform organizational and safety culture. Behavioral Science Technology, Inc. (BST) of Calif. was selected to help NASA develop and implement a plan for changing the agency-wide safety climate and culture. The BST assessment, which includes input from an employee survey conducted in February, and implementation plan was submitted to NASA in March.

The results of the assessment are available on the Internet at: http://www.nasa.gov/about/highlights/index.html
