Rachul Media Relations Office 216/433-8806 lori.j.rachul@grc.nasa.gov Note To Editors/News Directors: Veterans Remembered at NASA Ceremony The courage, commitment and sacrifice of those who served our nation will be the focus of a Veterans Day ceremony at NASA's Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, on Friday, November 9. This employee only event will begin at 11 a.m. in Glenn's Administration Building Auditorium. The program will include bagpipe music, a historical explanation of the poppy's significance to veterans, a presentation by a WWII veteran of the Veterans Wreath, posting and retrieving of colors, and the national anthem. A highlight of the event will be kindergartners from Glenn's on-site daycare facility, Lewis Little Folks, who will parade into the auditorium carrying American flags. This is in keeping with President Bush's previously stated initiative to encourage military veterans to share their experiences with elementary school students "at a time when examples of duty and courage are sorely needed." Media representatives who plan to attend the ceremony should call the Media Relations Office 216-433-2901 in order to be cleared through security. # # # -end-
