Rachul Media Relations Office 216/433-8806 lori.j.rachul@grc.nasa.gov Note to Editors/News Directors: POW/MIAs Honored at NASA Ceremony Nearly one hundred Ohioans who are either prisoners of war or missing in action will be remembered on Friday, September 21 during a ceremony held for employees only in conjunction with the National POW/MIA Recognition Day at NASA Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio. Starting at 1 p.m., after a program of national song, raising of the POW/MIA flag and a symbolic Missing Guest Ceremony, the names of the missing Ohio servicemen will be read. A U.S. flag will also be placed for each missing individual in the garden area in front of Glenn's Administration Building. Rolling Thunder, a group that seeks to reach a full accounting of all U.S. servicemen who are either prisoners or war or missing in action, worked with Glenn to coordinate this event. The POW/MIA flag, presented to Glenn in 1999 by Rolling Thunder, Chapter 1, Ohio, is flown at Glenn on the day before, the day of and the day after all federal legal holidays. Media representatives who plan to attend the ceremony should call Katherine Martin 216-433-2406 or the Media Relations Office 216-433-2901 in order to be cleared through security. # # # -end-
