NOTE TO EDITORS/NEWS DIRECTORS:

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Equality Recognition Luncheon Promotes Dedication to Civil Rights

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once stated "Human progress is never inevitable…it only comes through the time and effort and the persistent work of dedicated individuals." NASA Glenn Research Center strongly echoes King's words through its pursuit of equal opportunities for all employees.

In the spirit of Dr. King's civil rights doctrine, Glenn's Office of equal Opportunity Programs will host the first-ever Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. equality recognition Luncheon. The event will take place on Wednesday, January 17 from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the OAI sunroom, located at 22800 Cedar Point Road, Cleveland, OH.

Greater Cleveland Roundtable President and Chief Executive Officer Margot James Copeland will present a keynote speech on the importance of civil rights from a modern perspective. The luncheon will also honor 85 Glenn Equal Opportunity Advisory Committee members who have completed at least one year of duty during an awards ceremony.

Media representatives are invited to attend the employee only event.
