Local Rocket Scientist is "Discovered"
Discover magazine has
named Diane L. Linne, an aerospace engineer in NASA Glenn Research
Center's Turbomachinery and Propulsion Systems Division, one of the
nation's 20 most innovative researchers and scientists under age 40.
The list was compiled for a commemorative 20th Anniversary Issue that
hits newsstands now.
Linne was noted for her work in advanced fuels development and
characterization for planetary exploration. Her research focuses on
using carbon monoxide and oxygen made from the carbon dioxide in the
Martian atmosphere as propellants to return from Mars. She is
currently investigating the new technology of ceramic rocket engines.
