NASA Lewis Research Center
(Bus: 216/433-8806)

MEDIA ADVISORY:

SENATOR JOHN GLENN TO ADDRESS NASA LEWIS EMPLOYEES

Senator John H. Glenn Jr. , an "American Legend," will speak to the employees of the NASA Lewis Research Center at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, December 18, as his last stop before leaving the Cleveland area.

Following Senator Glenn’s remarks, there will be a question and answer period for Lewis employees.

A highlight of the event will be the presentation of the 8- by 12-foot greeting card created in partnership with American Greetings. Senator Glenn will receive the scroll that has over 7,500 signatures and well wishes along with replicas of the card for himself and the other six crew members of Discovery. The card was unveiled at Lewis’ Open House and was in the Visitor Center throughout the STS-95 mission.

Media representatives who plan to attend this event should call ahead to the Media Relations Office, 216/433-2901, in order to be cleared through security.
