Minority Business Awards Ceremony to be held October 14
Cleveland, OH -- NASA Administrator Daniel C. Goldin will present the
National Association of Small Disadvantaged Business (NASDB)
Meritorious Award to the honorable Congressman Louis Stokes, Ohio's
11th Congressional District, in a ceremony on October 14 beginning at
9:30 a.m. The ceremony will be held at the Ohio Aerospace Institute
(OAI) located at 22800 Cedar Point Road, Cleveland, Ohio.
The NASDB meritorious award is presented to those who have performed
deeds beyond the normal standard that promote the advancement of
minority-owned companies into the mainstream of American business.
Ralph M. Thomas III will receive NASDB's National Advocacy Award for
his work in fostering the well-being of small disadvantaged business.
Thomas is NASA's Assistant Administrator for the Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization.
NASA Lewis Research Center Director, Donald J. Campbell, will present
Lewis' Minority Contractor of the Year to Mid-America Consulting
group. The award cites their "outstanding contributions in the
performance of contracts at the NASA Lewis Research Center and in
assisting the Center in developing a total quality environment."
Campbell also will recognize the following three Lewis employees for
their exceptional achievement in furthering NASA's efforts to assist
Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDBs) and fostering better working
relations between NASA Lewis and SDBs:
