NASA Lewis Research Center Co-Sponsors Career Expo

CLEVELAND, OH -- NASA Lewis and the Cortez III Service Corporation, a Lewis contractor, have joined forces to sponsor a day- long motivational Career Expo at the Center beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 1994. More than 250 students from nine Lorain County schools are expected to attend.

The students attending the Career Expo are seniors who are participating in a program known as Jobs for Ohio Graduates (JOG), a statewide school-to-work transition program focusing on graduation and employment. JOG students undergo a comprehensive program promoting personal and employability skills that will meet the needs of an employer. JOG is funded by the State of Ohio, the Joint Training Partnership Act and private sources.

The Expo is designed to introduce the Lorain students to Lewis engineers, scientists and administrative personnel from diverse backgrounds, with the expressed purpose of encouraging students to excel in their studies, thus paving the way for successful careers.

Besides NASA and Cortez, several Lorain businesses and community organizations will be on hand to discuss career possibilities and to demonstrate and provide hands-on examples of the kind of services or products their particular firm or organization provide.
