Young Astronauts Day at NASA Lewis Research Center
Cleveland,
OH -- The Lewis Research Center and the American Institute of
Aeronautics and Astronautics are sponsoring a "Young Astronaut Club
Day: Just Plane Fun" on November 13, 1993 for students from 12 Ohio
schools.
Approximately 130 students from area schools will spend the fun-filled
afternoon building a space-truss out of LEGOS and participate in a
paper space shuttle glider fly-off.
The Young Astronaut Program was established in 1984 as a national
educational enrichment program, intended to use space exploration as
a way to open up the world of science, math, technology and
engineering for primary and secondary school students.
The contests begin at 2:00 p.m. in Lewis' Main Cafeteria with
announcement of winners and presentations of awards at 4:30 p.m.
