NASA Selects RECOM Technologies for Contract Negotiations

Cleveland, OH -- NASA Lewis Research Center has selected Recom Technologies, San Jose, Calif., a small disadvantaged business (SDB), for negotiations leading to the award of a contract for computational administrative, professional and engineering services to support Lewis' Computer Services Division.

The initial contract award is valued at approximately $6 million with the total contract worth $41.4 million. The cost-plus- award fee contract will have a phase-in period of approximately one month, a basic period of three years and a one two-year option period for a total contract life of 60 months. The work is to begin on or about October 15, 1993.

The contractor will be required to perform a variety of tasks including applications programming/development; systems integration and engineering; documentation/technical writing; computational administrative support; systems programming support; training; production software support; computational facilities support; and systems administration. The work will be performed at the NASA Lewis Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio.

Award of this contract to a SDB is in line with NASA's goal of awarding 8 percent of its contracts to SDB's. The Lewis Research Center is obligating approximately $64 million in contracts to SDB's from the estimated total obligations of $800 million for fiscal year 1993.
