May 17 and 18, 2008
11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Have you ever wondered what's inside that big building with the NASA logo on it? During NASA Glenn's free open house, you'll find out. Your walking tour of Glenn's world-class facilities begins here.

Photo shows people outside the NASA Hangar. Easily visible from I-480, the Hangar is the most recognized of NASA Glenn's facilities. It was built in the 1940s and is large enough to hold several aircraft of varying sizes.

Known to employees as the Flight Research Building, the Hangar is home to many unique and innovative aircraft, including the Glenn's newest plane, the S-3B Viking, as well as the Learjet Model 25 and the Twin Otter Icing Research Aircraft. It also houses the Flight Operation Administrative Office, a pilots lounge, flight-planning areas, a full-scale metal battery and an avionics shop.
