2008 Cleveland National Air Show
Burke Lakefront Airport
August 30 - September 1
Dozens of spectacular aircraft will fly the Cleveland sky Labor Day weekend during the 2008 Cleveland National Air Show. And NASA will be there for the action. In celebration of the agency's 50th anniversary, NASA Glenn's presence at the air show will be bigger and better than ever.
Meet Astronauts.
Astronauts from Ohio will appear at the air show on Saturday to sign autographs.
Learn about the Space Program.
Visit NASA's tents throughout the weekend to see models of the Orion spacecraft that will carry astronauts back to the moon and the Ares I rocket that will launch Orion on its missions. Glenn staff will answer questions and talk about Cleveland's role in building this next-generation of manned spacecraft.
You'll also see space shuttle and International Space Station models and exhibits.
See NASA Aircraft.
Get a close-up look at NASA Glenn's T-34 and S-3B Viking airplanes. Once a U.S. Navy antisubmarine aircraft, the S-3B was modified last year to perform aviation safety and scientific research.
Enjoy Hands-on Activities.
Step inside the Journey to Tomorrow trailer, a 53-foot interactive environment packed with hands-on activities and digital learning stations. Then, check out our Aerospace Environmental Bus, where you can learn about Glenn's efforts to make airplane engines cleaner and more fuel efficient.
Take Something Home.
Don't forget to stop by our information booth for free NASA flyers, posters, stickers and more. Kids can even take home free photos of themselves exploring space from our "Picture Yourself in Space" digital photo booth.
