Available for Loan: Aero Adventure Traveling Exhibit
Aero Adventure, a traveling exhibit that explores the science of flight and the challenges of aerospace propulsion research, is available for loan to museums and science centers. (Other venues and community groups should visit our Traveling Exhibits page for details about our other exhibits.)

A traveling version of the Aero Adventure Gallery in the NASA Glenn Visitor Center, this interactive exhibit encourages your visitors to discover the wonders of flight and become engineers for the day.
Visitors learn that scientists at the premier aerospace propulsion research facility use the same scientific process taught in the U.S. middle school curriculum. The two learning stations are multi-tiered and suitable for different learning styles. One of the programs, "Engineer for a Day," won the 2000 Communicator Award of Distinction in the Education-Multimedia/Museums category.
The exhibit is composed of two 3-D models: a subscale model of a jet engine shows the inner workings of a commercial jet engine, and a model of aircraft surfaces with ice molds from Glenn's Icing Research Tunnel shows the challenges of flying in winter weather.
Aero Adventure has a 150 square foot base and can be positioned against a wall or used as an island. The height is adjustable to 8 or 12 feet. Power is required for two personal computers and some lighting. No staff is needed.
Although there is no charge for the loan of the Aero Adventure exhibit, the sponsor must provide liability insurance based on a replacement value of $90,000. The sponsor also must pay shipping expenses to and from the place of exhibition. (See shipping information.)
The host organization is responsible for assembly. Using detailed instructions, the typical assembly time for two people is four hours.
Normal loan time is 12 weeks. View our online exhibit schedule to determine availability. To begin the request process, download the
Exhibit Application [PDF], review the requirements, complete the form, and fax it to the NASA Glenn Research Center to the attention of David DeFelice at (216) 433-8143.
