Laurence (Larry) A. Sivic serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at NASA's John H. Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Sivic reports directly to the NASA CFO at NASA Headquarters (Washington, D.C.). He is responsible for leading and managing the development, implementation, and administration of all Center budgeting ($700M budget), accounting, business systems, financial audits/internal controls, and cost-estimating activities. The Office of the CFO strives to help the Center achieve the following five strategic goals:
- Provide world-class research and technology, revolutionize aeronautics and space exploration.
- Advance space missions and aeronautics by leveraging core competencies to deliver concept-through-flight systems.
- Deliver program and project management excellence that results in successful missions for our customers and challenging, long-term assignments for continued achievements.
- Provide excellent institutional capability to enable NASA mission success.
- Be an integral part of the Ohio community and the Nation.
Mr. Sivic joined NASA in 2004 after an extensive career with Accenture implementing Enterprise Resource Planning systems such as Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP). During his career with NASA, Mr. Sivic has served as the Chief of the Mission Support and Integration Office, supporting the Center and Agency with his functional and technical knowledge contributing to the various Integrated Enterprise Management Program implementations. He served as Glenn’s Deputy Chief Financial Officer from January 4, 2006, to January 3, 2011. He served as Acting Chief Financial Officer from January 2011 until August 2011, and in September 2011, he was selected as the Chief Financial Officer for the Glenn Research Center.
At the 2009 NASA Honor Award ceremony, Mr. Sivic received an Outstanding Leadership Medal for outstanding leadership in designing, managing, and implementing financial policies, systems, and reengineered processes at both the Center and Agency level. He also received a Group Achievement Honor Award as a member of the Project Management Tool Implementation Team for outstanding team performance implementing the Program Management Tool enabling Glenn Research Center to better manage its programs and resources, and to meet Agency financial metrics.
Mr. Sivic is a native of Broadview Heights, Ohio. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Computer Science from Bowling Green State University.
