NASA Sponsors Astronomy Workshop for Educators

PALMDALE – Middle school educators are invited to an astronomy workshop Nov. 3 that will offer hands-on activities to help students understand the importance of astronomical observations. Sponsored by NASA Dryden Flight Research Center’s Office of Education, the event is offered free of charge. Participants will receive a teacher resource packet and information about the solar system. During the workshop educators will learn about careers opportunities in the areas of science, math and technology. The goal of the event is to increase students’ awareness and interest in astrobiology. The workshop for educators of grades five through eight will be offered from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the AERO Institute, 38256 Sierra Hwy., Ste. A, in the Palmdale Civic Center.
