NASA Announces Dryden Support Services Contract

NASA has selected Kay and Associates, Inc., Buffalo Grove, Ill., to provide aerospace ground equipment support services for the agency’s Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards, Calif.

A follow-on to an existing contract with Kay and Associates that concludes on June 30, the hybrid firm fixed price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity and cost reimbursement contract covers a three-year base period beginning July 1, 2006 and extending through June 30, 2009. Two consecutive option periods of two and five years could extend the contract for up to a total of 10 years. The contract could have a potential maximum value of $21 million if all options are exercised.
The Aerospace Ground Equipment Support Services contract is the primary vehicle by which Dryden obtains maintenance, modification, repair, documentation and operation services for multiple pieces of ground equipment as well as labor to support that equipment. The equipment includes aerospace and space flight ground support items, automotive and special purpose vehicles that support Dryden research programs and general center operations.
Kay and Associates employs about 25 persons at NASA Dryden. The firm has provided ground equipment support services at NASA Dryden since 1988.
