Moffett Field Historical Society Museum
The Moffett Field Historical Society is a volunteer-run non-profit organization that operates the Moffett Field Historical Society Museum. The Museum preserves and presents the rich history of Moffett Field.
The Museum moved to the Research Park after its previous site, Hangar 1 was closed due to PCB contamination. The NRP offered a site where the Museum could reopen and remain close to the historically significant Hangar 1.
A new display item at the Museum is the nose section of a P-3 Orion anti-submarine patrol aircraft. P-3s patrolled the Pacific from Moffett Field from 1963-1999. The Museum is available free of charge (donation requested) for small events and gatherings.
The Moffett Field Historical Society and NASA Ames have executed a Space Act Agreement. Its purpose is the capture, preserve, and promote the history of Moffett Field.
