Description

Changene is a biotech company that is developing a drug therapy, Pincta, to treat bone loss. The company collaborated with the Ames Advanced Supercomputing group to conduct dynamic simulation studies of the oyster gene on which their drug is based. This work is of interest to NASA as a potential countermeasure to chronic bone loss experienced by astronauts in space.

Access to supercomputers at Ames Research Center was very important to Changene in speeding up their analyses and moving Pincta to clinical trials quickly.

Changene currently has other NASA projects in early development based on the success of the Pincta collaboration.
