NASA to Highlight Space Exploration at Salinas Air Show
 
 
MOFFETT FIELD, Calif. -This weekend, Sept. 28-30, 2007, NASA will share the excitement of space exploration with attendees at the Salinas Air Show. The NASA tent, shared with Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, Salinas, Calif., will have approximately 2,000 square feet of displays and exhibits about some of NASA's current and future missions. One such project is the Kepler Space Telescope mission that will search for Earth-sized planets in distant galaxies.

Other displays and exhibits provide information about NASA's Small Satellite program including GeneSat, a small Ames managed, student-run satellite that studied the effects of space on bacteria; the Crew Exploration Vehicle, the next generation of spacecraft; a moon rock from the Apollo 17 mission and how NASA technology is being used in today's products.

Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital will showcase an intensive care ambulance unit and collaborative projects with NASA.
