NASA Ames to Show Live Broadcast of Space Shuttle Launch
 
 
MOFFETT FIELD, Calif., -- NASA Ames Research Center will extend the hours of operation of its Exploration Center on Friday, June 8, 2007, for the public and news media to observe the live televised broadcast of the launch of STS-117 space shuttle Atlantis that afternoon.

WHAT: An opportunity to watch the live televised broadcast of the launch of STS-117 space shuttle Atlantis. The launch is scheduled at 4:38 p.m. PDT from NASA Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Fla., and will be televised live on NASA TV.

NASA TV is carried on the Web and on an MPEG-2 digital signal accessed via satellite AMC-6, at 72 degrees west longitude, transponder 17C, 4040 MHz, vertical polarization. It's available in Alaska and Hawaii on AMC-7, at 137 degrees west longitude, transponder 18C, at 4060 MHz, horizontal polarization. WHERE: NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, Exploration Center, located at the main gate, Moffett Field. To reach NASA Ames, take U.S. Highway 101 to the Moffett Field, NASA Parkway exit and drive east on Moffett Boulevard towards the main gate and bear right into the parking lot. The Exploration Center is located in the large white dome.
