Secretary of State to Test New Electric Car at NASA Ames

MOFFETT FIELD, Calif. -- U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer will visit Moffett Field on Thursday, May 24 for a first-hand look at one of Silicon Valley’s new green technologies, including a ride in the Tesla Roadster, a new 100 percent electric, zero-emissions sports car.

WHAT: Photo opportunity with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer and a demonstration of the new Tesla Roadster.

WHERE: NASA Ames Research Center, Hangar N211 and adjoining airfield tarmac.

WHEN: Thursday, May 24, 2007, 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. PDT. Media interested in covering the event, should report to the Visitor Badge Office, Bldg. 26, located at the main gate, Moffett Field, at 10:30 a.m. to obtain their visitor badges. NASA Ames Research Center is located about 40 miles south of San Francisco on U.S. 101. Take the Moffett Field exit and drive east to the main gate.
