NASA and Google Announce Lease at Ames Research Center

S. Pete Worden, Director, NASA Ames Research Center: I’m really pleased to announce a really cool collaboration that is continuing with Google. We have signed an Enhanced Use Lease with Google Corporation that will enable them to build a 1.2 million square foot facility on 42 acres of NASA Ames Research Center.
This is continuing a fabulous collaboration that we begun several years ago with Google that includes research things, including making lunar imagery, making earth imagery and other things available to the public.
This is the next step in developing a really exciting public-private partnership here in Silicon Valley. This is just an initial step of fabulous development that we’re going to see between NASA and its partners here that will usher in a new era in collaboration with the public and with corporations.
