Hybrid Rocket Fuel

Who Greg Zilliac, research scientist, Moffett Field, Calif.
Title Research Scientist
Affiliation NASA Ames Research Center
Topic Paraffin as a potential fuel for hybrid rocket engines
Length 41 sec
Transcript “This fuel is predominantly a paraffin-based fuel, although we do have a couple of other additives, but they’re in very small quantities. There are (is) a range of paraffins, and this is paraffin commonly used for candle production. I think that there are basically two very important aspects of this fuel. One is its environmental friendliness and the related safety associated with handling the fuel. And the second is that it is a very high performing fuel especially for a hybrid rocket.”
