7.What is Gusev Crater (pronounced GOOSE’-EV) like?" (34 SECONDS)
Jeff Moore: "We hope that Gusev Crater will show evidence for its past role as a – ah – lake. It’s basically a dry lake site. And so, when one looks across this landscape, one sees what one would expect to see. More or less we’re looking at a dry lake. Now, dry lakes usually have fewer rocks on the surface than the landing site where the rover has landed. But there is reasons why that might not in any way preclude finding old lake deposits, which are the holy grail of the mission.”
