3.Please explain about some of the sensors on the MER rovers.?" (26 SECONDS)

Jeff Moore: "There is a mid-infrared spectrometer, which can actually look out across the landscape just like the camera does and get some idea of the mineralogical content of rocks that are some distance away from the rover. And they will use that information to determine which rocks to drive up to and place the sample detectors which are on the end of the robotic arms up against the rock.”
