The Materials on the International Space Station Experiment (MISSE-X) Technology Demonstration Mission, performed by LaRC, is an external platform on ISS allowing space environmental studies designed to advance the technology readiness of materials and devices critical for future space exploration. MISSE-X is a follow-on to successful previous MISSE missions. MISSE-X includes improved sensing and monitoring of the ISS external environment, as well as active power accommodations and the expansion of the MISSE-X user community through incorporation of new, customer-desired capabilities. The MISSE-X project will be finalizing demonstration requirements and final design in preparation for the Critical Design Review that will be held in FY13. The project includes involvement from GRC, MSFC, KSC, JSC and ARC.
