Back in 1992 NASA invited scientists to ponder the possibilities of exploring our solar system, and the space agency would make it happen. With its Discovery Program NASA green lighted several missions to explore our solar system. This 29-minute video chronicles the surprising findings from Discovery's 10 missions. Thanks to Discovery scientists now have atoms of solar wind and particles of comet dust to study, the first space samples returned to Earth since the Apollo program. The video features segments on each Discovery mission, including the study of neighboring planets, comets, and asteroids and the search for planets around other stars.
