What's an "Extra"? Every month, NASA compiles a list of educational resources related to a NASA topic. Visit each month to find new educational materials, classroom activities, games, pictures, NASA TV broadcasts and Web sites.

The topic for November 2007 is "The International Space Station."

The International Space Station is the largest, most complex international scientific project in history. When completed around 2010, the space station will comprise more than 100 major components carried aloft during 88 spaceflights. The station has been continuously occupied since Nov. 2, 2000, with crews working on experiments about human life sciences, physical sciences and Earth observation, as well as giving education and technology demonstrations. The station draws upon the scientific and technological resources of 16 nations, led by the United States. The other countries are Canada, Japan, Russia, France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Greece, Portugal, Luxembourg and Brazil.
