This program provides an introduction to the celestial globe, which is a model of the celestial sphere. The celestial sphere is an imaginary sphere enclosing the Earth on which stars, planets and the sun appear to be held up in the sky. The celestial globe is used to locate a star or the planets on the celestial sphere. The program highlights the main parts of a celestial globe, and explains how one's location on the Earth affects which stars are seen.
