Join us at NASA TV the week of Nov. 11-17 as we look at aeronautics, the first “A” in NASA. NASA's Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate, or ARMD, works to solve the challenges that exist in our nation's air transportation system. These challenges include issues such as air traffic congestion, safety and the environment. During our November theme week, we will be examining aeronautics, from man’s early attempts at flight to the development of the North American X-15 rocket-powered aircraft. We’ll also see what the future might hold, such as the flight of the X-48C blended wing body aircraft, a cross between a conventional airplane and a flying wing design.
