Read about NASA's plans for the next 50 years. Essential to NASA's plans is a new and versatile space launch system to replace the space shuttle. The new system will combine the best of the past with the best of the present and future. The system is called the Constellation program and will consist of two launch vehicles -- Ares I and Ares V -- each with different configurations to meet varying mission and cost requirements.
