This NASA video segment explores how astronauts safely perform experiments in space. Viewers watch astronauts on board the space shuttle and learn that they use a special piece of equipment called the General Purpose Work Station. The GPWS provides a container for liquids that would normally float away and a barrier between astronauts and harmful chemicals. Astronauts also demonstrate how sharp objects are disposed of properly in space.
