This NASA video segment explores the relationship between sound and distance. The segment is part of the NASA SCIFiles program, which features the Tree House Detectives, a group of young students who work together to solve everyday problems. In this segment the detectives perform a demonstration with Dr. D., a neighborhood scientist, in a room that absorbs sound. The detectives learn that sound and distance are inversely proportional.
