In this NASA video segment, an astronaut aboard the space shuttle describes some of the complexity involved when the shuttle, traveling at 17,500 miles per hour, must rendezvous with Russia's Mir space station. (Note: The Mir space station re-entered Earth's atmosphere in 2001.) As illustrations of the adjustments and timing issues encountered when two moving objects attempt to meet, the segment includes clips of a dog running to catch a Frisbee and a quarterback throwing to a receiver.
