Exploring Diffraction With a Spectroscope
Audience: Educators
Grades: K-8
As students view light from different sources through a spectroscope, they discover that white light can be divided into colors. Students can remember the order of the colors by using the mnemonic device Roy G. Biv. Students can also see that different chemical elements have signature spectra that identify the elements.
