NASA Student Launch Initiative (Grades 7-12)
The SLI challenges middle and high school students to design, build and launch a reusable rocket with a scientific or engineering payload. Teams can qualify to participate in the SLI by placing in the top ranks at the Rockets for Schools competition (Level 2) held in Wisconsin or at the Team America Rocketry Challenge held in Virginia. The SLI educational experience culminates with a launch near NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. SLI is sponsored by ATK Aerospace Systems of Magna, Utah.

NASA University Student Launch Initiative (Higher Education)
The NASA University Student Launch Initiative is a competition that challenges university teams to design, build and fly a reusable rocket with a scientific payload to one mile in altitude. The competition engages students in scientific research and real-world engineering processes with NASA engineers. The annual launch takes place near NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in the spring. USLI is sponsored by ATK Aerospace Systems of Magna, Utah.

    RockOn! 2012 Workshop (Higher Education)
University faculty and students are invited to join a weeklong workshop June 16-21 to learn how to build and launch a scientific experiment to space. Registration is open through May 1. RockOn! 2012 will be held at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility. The annual workshop is held in partnership with the Colorado and Virginia Space Grant Consortia.

Sounding Rockets Program Office (Higher Education)
The Sounding Rockets Program Office at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia provides suborbital launch vehicles, payload development and field operations support to NASA and other government agencies. The office supports the RockOn! Workshop, which is a spaceflight program for university students and faculty.

University Experimenters Sought for Suborbital Rocket Programs (Higher Education)
NASA is seeking university instructors and students to participate in three programs for the novice to the more experienced space researcher.

Team America Rocketry Challenge (Grades 7-12)
Student teams are challenged to design, build and launch a model rocket. Flight requirements may change each year for the rockets and payloads. Qualifying teams have the chance to earn scholarships and prizes. NASA invites top teams from TARC to participate in the NASA Student Launch Initiative. TARC launches take place at Great Meadow in The Plains, Virginia, every spring.
