IMMIGRATION AND ITS EFFECTS ON NASA

Key Topic: Economic Development

This problem introduces students to the immigration involvement as NASA’s Apollo program began. Students will analyze the economic and social effect of migration on Eastern Europe and the United States in the mid-20th century as it relates to this topic.

Students will
  • identify, compare, and contrast the economics and social indicators of development;
  • analyze the role of immigration with regards to the economic and social indicators of development; and
  • evaluate the role of ”push and pull” factors as it pertains to the emigration of Eastern Europeans to the United States.
