For almost 20 years, NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has inspired and engaged educators and students of all ages. Formal and informal educators of all levels — both individuals and teams of up to four members —are invited to submit their best examples of using NASA's Hubble Space Telescope for science, technology, engineering or mathematics education.

Entries will be accepted from May 2009 into 2010. They may include any combination of text, graphics, video and photos. Selected entries will be recognized as "Top Stars."

Top Stars is sponsored by NASA and is a project of the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies, or IGES, in Arlington, Va.

During this activity, students can practice their reading skills and enhance their science content knowledge by reading about Hubble discoveries. Amazing Space resources such as Hubble’s Top Science Findings (Grades 6-12), Star Witness News stories (Grades 5-8), Tales of… stories (Grades 9-12), and lithographs (Grades 6-12) are content-reading materials that provide access to both background information and imagery. Additional Hubble images and pictures of the telescope are located in HubbleSite’s Gallery section.
