  MULTIMEDIA RESOURCES

Online Multimedia -- NASA has a spectacular array of online multimedia resources, such as images, videos, podcasts, interactive features, NASA TV, an art gallery and downloads.

NASA Direct! -- This Web broadcast allows viewers a unique and exciting way to follow launches, landings or other special events occurring at Kennedy Space Center. Each broadcast includes entertaining and informative programming, insider information, and interviews with experts, dignitaries and special guests. For some events, the audience has an opportunity to submit questions and interact with special guests.

Real-Time Satellite Tracking -- This site provides several ways to get information in real time for sighting opportunities. Users can see the flight path the space shuttle takes when it lands, or find orbital tracking data for the International Space Station and space shuttle.

Models -- The Cassini/Huygens spacecraft, Hubble Space Telescope and Mars spacecraft are just a few of the models that the user can download and assemble. These sites require skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced.

Central Operation of Resources for Educators -- CORE is a worldwide distribution center for NASA's educational multimedia materials. Educational materials such as videotapes, slide sets, CD-ROMs and DVDs are available for a minimal fee.

NASA Liftoff to Learning Video Tape Series -- This sixteen-part videotape series contains footage from spaceflights. Each episode comes with a printed video resource guide that provides valuable background information for teachers, resources for additional study and practical hands-on demonstrations.

NASA's Kids Science News Network™ -- KSNN™ is a Web- and video-based series. The target audience is K-5. Each broadcast has an inquiry-based format that begins with a 1-minute, "streaming" video newsbreak from the KSNN™ Web site. A collection of resources follows the newsbreak. All episodes are available in English and Spanish.

NASA SCIence Files Series™ -- The series includes 60-minute instructional episodes that are free, interactive, closed-captioned and standards-based. Each episode integrates math, science, geography and technology in grades 3-5. Web-based resources for students, educators and parents accompany the broadcasts.

NASA CONNECT™ -- The series includes 30-minute instructional episodes that are free, interactive, closed-captioned and standards-based. Each episode uses NASA projects, facilities and researchers to emphasize mathematics, science, geography and technology in grades 5-8. Each show has a lesson guide, a classroom activity and a Web-based component.

NASA's Destination Tomorrow™ -- The series consists of 30-minute, educational television shows that address the lifelong learner and focus on NASA research. Subjects include new technologies, advanced aerodynamics, medical breakthroughs and past achievements. The shows use a five-segment magazine format. Each segment gives an inside look at NASA and demonstrates how research and technology relate to everyday life. An associated Web site provides summaries of stories and links to related material.

NASA's Digital Learning Network -- DLN is a two-way audio/videoconferencing system that allows learners at all levels to interact directly with NASA experts.
