January 21, 2003

The human race is going back to Mercury! Challenger Center for Space Science Education announces an Educator Fellowship program for grade pre-K through 12 educators, in support of NASA's MESSENGER mission to Mercury.

MESSENGER (MErcury Surface, Space ENvironment, GEochemistry, and Ranging) will be only the second spacecraft to venture to the innermost planet of our Solar System. Launched in 2004, it will make two passes by the innermost planet in 2007 and 2008, and go into orbit in 2009.

How would you like to help take the nation along for the ride as a MESSENGER Educator Fellow? Visit www.challenger.org/ssr/new.html for more details, or please contact Elizabeth Taylor at Challenger Center either by e-mail (etaylor@challenger.org) or phone 703-683-9740, 800-969-5747. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY MARCH 7, 2003.
